Many associations are considering social networks as a way to expand their marketing, fundraising, advocacy reach, and to engage constituents more deeply and in a more continuous fashion.
What real opportunities are there for our organization?
What kind of benefits could social networking bring to us?
Where do we start?
The webinar will use the Social Network Readiness Assessment framework to highlight five key areas: Markets, Goals Alignment, Organization Readiness, Competition, and Technology selection. Taken together, these considerations will help you evaluate your opportunity and develop plans for your social network activities.
Markets: How likely are your target markets to participate in social networks? What segments are most and least attractive?
Organization Readiness: Extending your organization into the social network space has implications for how you make decisions, control the flow of information, and interact with your markets. Is your organization ready?
Competition: Are your markets currently involved with social networks? Is this a threat to your own community, or a sign of opportunity? The answers have a major impact on your strategy.
Goals Alignment: Do the most successful uses of social networks align with your goals? What strategies should you consider? Should you develop a presence within existing communities or start your own? What are the lessons from the field?
Technology: Do we develop a presence in existing communities such as Facebook, or do we create our own community? What are the options? How do we decide?
