Come enjoy a celebration of the founding of San Antonio! The 6th annual tribute to the many cultural groups who shaped the heritage of San Antonio will be held at the Alamo on Saturday, October 24, 2009. This annual event is sponsored by the San Antonio Founders Day Alliance, in association with San Antonio's Founding Heritage. The Alliance is a nonprofit group of individuals and representatives of organizations dedicated to fostering greater appreciation and learning about the heritage of San Antonio. Opening ceremonies and musical tribute will include live music and singing featuring local orchestras and performers. The event continues at The Alamo and Alamo Plaza (until 4:30 p.m.) with live music and dancing; historical, cultural and educational displays from more than 40 organizations; and crafts and activities for children. This is a free, family-oriented event.
