How do we go about inviting people to this since it's marked as only showing to friends of Stowe? I have several people in London (or nearby) that weren't on Tara's original email list (and if we piggyback Faruk's bon voyage on it, he has more I'm sure).
I admit it, I'm an Upcoming noob (living in a small town where it's not really utilized, I rarely have a use for it outside things like SXSW. ;))
Would any of you kind London folk have a parking space spare in a location that I could conceivably bed down for the night? I have the accommodation already: http://vwkombi.com/photos/vanfest-2007/Pages/P1010777.html - I just need somewhere safe to park it where I won't get chavs waking me up or otherwise messing with the bus :-)
Please email lloydi AT lloydi Dot com just in case I miss reply here. Thanks!
Stowe, really sorry - would love to be there. That particular Saturday is one of the rare occasions when my daughter is staying at her grandparents over night - which means I have prior committments - to my wife!
Let me know for the next one though. Best. dc
I admit that I am a lazy swine, since I proposed the Bridge House which is near my hotel.
I am happy to relinquish hosting rights to anyone who wants to take on the onerous task of a/ finding a place big enough for 17 of us, and b/ making the reservation.
Santa Lucia (Italian - warm and friendly environment, simple food - good fun)
2 Hollywood Road, Chelsea
Daphne's Restaurant (Fine Italian cuisine - very friendly, very good food and good Italian wines).
112 Draycott Avenue, Chelsea
My Old Dutch (Pancakes - basic faire, cheap and cheerful, good place to meet up with a crowd)
132 High Holborn, Holborn
Belgo Centraal (Mussels from Brussels - basic faire, cheap and cheerful, lively and with a very long beer list)
50 Earlham Street, Covent Garden
Elena's L'Etoille (French cuisine, very formal - good food and wine.)
30 Charlotte Street, W1T 2NG
The Bleeding Heart (French cuisine - good food and excellent wine list, secluded)
Bleeding Heart Yard, off Greville Street
I don't know if any of these can actually support a large group, or has a private room, but The Bridge House does/can.
