NBA Preseason Game - Charlotte Bobcats vs. New Orleans Hornets

The Greensboro Coliseum Complex has announced it will host the New Orleans Hornets vs. Charlotte Bobcats in NBA preseason action on October 8th at 7:30 pm.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, May 1st at 10:00 am at www.ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000 or at the Greensboro Coliseum box office. A special “family four pack” ticket package (four tickets, four hot dogs and four small drinks for $44.00) is also available in select sections.

The Bobcats have posted 35 victories this year, an all-time high for the fourth-year franchise. The team is led by forward Gerald Wallace (team high 16.8 ppg in 2008-09), center Emeka Okafor (13.4 ppg, team high 10.2 rpg), mid-season acquisitions Boris Diaw and Raja Bell and guards Raymond Felton and D.J. Augustin, one of the NBA’s top rookies this year. The preseason game will also mark a homecoming of sorts for head coach Larry Brown who coached the ABA’s Carolina Cougars in the Greensboro Coliseum in the early 1970s.

One of the top teams in the NBA’s Western Conference, the Hornets are led by superstar point guard Chris Paul (22.8 ppg, 11.0 apg). A Winston-Salem, NC native, Paul played his college ball at Wake Forest, where he was a consensus All-American selection as a sophomore.

The game will mark the Bobcats second ever preseason game in Greensboro. The first, in October 2007 versus the Miami Heat, drew 14,526 fans.
