When Mr. Wood was a top executive at Microsoft, he made a life-changing, risky decision to found Room to Read. A non-profit organization which provides educational access to 1.3 million children in developing nations through its 400 schools and 5000 Reading Rooms.

In it’s short life, Room to Read has accomplished amazing results. It has been acknowledged with numerous awards for its forward thinking and innovative ability to make a significant change the world.

What is the secret? He marries "the scalability of Starbucks with the compassion of Mother Theresa."
Mr. Wood will discuss how to how to launch and run an organization based on his experiences and practices learned at Microsoft including:
- Getting sustainable, measurable results in an organization
- Running an organization with low overhead to maximize investment in other areas
- Leading a strong staff and forming key partnerships
