Hello,
Windsor Emancipation Celebration, is a multi-cultural event that invites media, corporations, executives, professionals and small business owner's to help celebrate the rich tradition's, history, and achievement's of blacks in North America and abroad.
This exclusive event will provide the guests with entertainment and an education of North American black history, heritage, wealth and a reminder of who we were before the Abolition Act. This event is designed to recognize North American blacks that excelled at their profession, both past and present. The Abolition Act passed by the British Parliament banned slavery throughout the British Empire. This Act made Canada the final destination in North America on the Underground Railroad to freedom.
In the past, this celebration drew the likes of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Dr. George Washington Carver, Jesse Owens, Joe Louis, Eleanor Roosevelt and many other world renowned dignitaries annually, to appear as guest speakers.
2009, marks the 176th anniversary of the Act, and the Windsor Emancipation
Celebration Corp.(WECC) plans to commemorate it with a elegant banquet dinner celebration, July 24th 2009. We have invited 1,500 guest's ranging from doctor's, lawyers, engineers, accountants, teachers, professor's, politicians, officers, chefs, janitor's, athletes, entertainers and more from our diverse global community to attend.
The festival will be held at the Riverfront Festival Plaza, from July 31st
to August 3rd, 2009.
