JAPANDROIDS:

Japandroids is a garage rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada which are known to also include elements of noise pop.

Japandroids was formed in 2006, and is comprised of Brian King on guitar and David Prowse on drums. The two met at the University of Victoria, where King studied science and Prowse anthropology[1]. Originally intending to be a trio, they decided to forgo having a specific lead singer and share vocal duties. The band self-released two limited edition EPs, 2007's All Lies and 2008's Lullaby Death Jams, prior to signing with independent Canadian label Unfamiliar Records in 2009. Their debut LP, Post-Nothing was released mid-2009.

SLIM TWIG:

Slim Twig was born in 1988. Raised by his parents, both filmmakers, in Toronto, he graduated a drama major from the Claude Watson School of the Arts. He started creating music in elementary school. In late 2008, Slim Twig was named Toronto's Best Pop/Rock Artist of the year[2] by that city's alternative news and entertainment weekly, NOW Magazine. He is currently signed to Paper Bag Records.

Paper Bag is slated to release Slim Twig's first, full-length LP in April 2009 (June 2009 in the U.S.). Entitled Contempt!, the album marks yet another departure for the adventurous artist, as he has reportedly created the record largely from found sound and significantly altered samples set against his own vocals.
