For the first time, Colonial Downs has teamed up with the Richmond Ski Club to provide a unique area where you can bring your own food and adult beverages, reminiscent of other popular racing experiences, at Virginia’s richest day of racing, The Virginia Derby. This area is located between turns one and two, has its own wagering windows and mini-jumbotron. A DJ will round out the day’s events! Join a few thousand of your closest friends, hosted by the Richmond Ski Club (winner of the Grand Award for the Railside Space Competition at the recent Strawberry Hill Races - these folks know how to put on a party!) It's the biggest annual day on the Virginia horse racing calendar. See the country's top 3 year old horses compete in the 12th annual $750,000 Virginia Derby (Gr. II), the richest thoroughbred race in Virginia.
