A meet-up for programmers, web developers and designers to discuss and showcase their "£5 apps" - lightweight software created by one or two people who take a simple idea and run with it.
The discussion will range from technical (what tools/languages were used during development) to business (building communities, spreading the word, costs and rewards).
This is a special £5 app event, as part of the Brighton Digital Festival and will be running for the whole day (from 10am till 6pm). It will also take place at a different venue - the offices of Sensible Development, who are sponsering the event.
There will be five sessions. Two in the morning and three in the afternoon:
* 10am-11.30am The Perils of Bootstrapping (Ian Ozsvald, Alan Newman) + Growth After Boot-strapping (Raj Anand)
* 11.30am-1pm Developing your £5 app (John Montgomery plus others)
* 2pm-3.20pm A simple example of Social Media Marketing with FaceBook, Flickr and MySpace (Madhava and Premasagar) + Google's OpenSocial (Jon Markwell)
* 3.20pm-4.40pm Search Engine Optimisation (Paul Silver)
* 4.40pm-6pm A guide to successful Copy-writing (Ellen de Vries)
You are of course more than welcome (everyone is!) to pop along/in/out as you see fit. The event lasts all day, some talks are bound to be more relevant than others.
I'm happy to say we've attracted a visitor from Birmingham (and another from about half as far), we have some pulling power :-)
