Formed in 1981, Queensryche emerged among many of the pop-metal band of the 80s with a progressive sound, drawing from the post-Van Halen guitar acrobatics and influences from Pink Floyd and Queen. Their best known album is 1988's 'Operation: Mindcrime,' which yielded the band a breakthrough hit with 'Silent Lucidity.'
