2008 was a dizzying blur of firsts and foremosts for the San Francisco based band BLVD. While whipping up crowds across the US with their fresh urban sounds this four-piece has positioned itself as a new champion of the burgeoning live electronic movement.

Regulars on the North American festival circuit, BLVD's latest release, "Music For People," is their first record featuring MC Souleye on vocals. Souleye has graced the stages with such acts as The Glitch Mob, String Cheese and Bassnectar before permanently joining BLVD in 2007. Souleye's partnership with BLVD is a natural convergence of two unique styles. Word of their high energy dance parties quickly spread through message boards, blogs and word of mouth, earning them a loyal underground following that's begun spreading to the masses.

Their music is described as "dance-rock" but Barnett English, founder of the Joshua Tree Music Festival said it best, “"They create an irresistible booty shaking combination of house, breakbeats and rock …tailor made for the dance floor.”"
