Great Midwest Dragon Boat Festival

50 teams of 22 people each in 40 ft long dragon boats paddling furiously over a 500 meter course off Sam Myers Park in Lake Michigan. Asian and American food, beer, soda, wine coolers, kids tent, bouncer tent. Friday 6:00 pm, Parade of Teams from Festival Hall at Sixth St south along Pershing Blvd to Myers Park, followed by Awakening the Dragon Ceremony and Opening Ceremony. Two live bands Friday night.
