Improvisation isn’t just for people who want to perform comedy. Learning how to be present in the moment, listen attentively, and express yourself authentically and creatively, is helpful to any role we play in life, from professional to personal. UNM Continuing Education is offering the Introduction to Action Theater - The Improvisation of Prescence class on Saturday, July 11 from 12pm-4pm. For $60 students will learn a body based method of improvisation inspired by the work of Ruth Zaporah, Action Theater. Students will forgoe scripts, memorizing, and choreography and instead uses personal awareness to generate movement, sounds and narrative in a supportive, playful group setting. No experience in dance, music, or theater is necessary to enjoy this workshop. You’ll build self-confidence, improve your connection to others, and discover a love for “life in the moment.” For more information visit dce.unm.edu or call 277-0563.
