On Thursday, July 9, 2009, Bahdeebahdu Studios will be hosting a fundraiser/dance party called “Camp It Up” for Mountain Meadow’s Summer Camp Program from 6-10 p.m. at 1522 North American Street (Northern Liberties). There are many ways to support this local non-profit organization serving kids from LGBTQ families: help sponsor a camper, feed a camper during their stay at camp, or simply make a donation that will go towards a helpful and potentially life-changing experience. This event will be hosted by Warren Muller and RJ Thornburg, artist and interior designer. Mingle and dance under some dramatic mixed media chandeliers and lighting fixtures made by Muller, comprised of mostly found objects – a quirky mix of form and function, whimsy and fantasy. Muller’s light sculptures transform the sometimes mundane into the extraordinary. They are displayed within a 4,000 square foot warehouse in Northern Liberties. If you have children of your own, come and learn more about this small agency and its very special mission. Donations will be accepted at the door ($10 minimum is appreciated) and the night will include a happy hour and meet-and-greet from 6-8 and live DJs and dancing from 8-10. There will be s’mores, snacks and fun “camp games” to surely entertain.
