Buddha meets "The Breakfast Club" in this new play about what happens when a group of unlikely bedfellows -- a lesbian musician and dharma student, her feisty activist/scientist ex-lover, her ethnic Jewish mother, a conservative Christian republican, and a black teen from the 'urbs—find themselves together at a meditation retreat for which the priest fails to show. With help from Willie's sometimes gentle, sometimes uppity, sometimes comic, sometimes wise hand, the characters connect across the great divide of cultures, beliefs, and circumstances to become each other's teachers and more.
