The Blanton Museum of Art at The University of Texas at Austin will launch its latest exhibition, Jerry Bywaters: Lone Star Printmaker, on July 18 with a book-signing event featuring texts and artists who chronicled the life and work of this native-Texas artist. Jerry Bywaters: Lone Star Printmaker will be on view July 18 through November 8, 2009, in the Blanton’s works on paper galleries on the second floor.

The book-signing event will host authors Sam Ratcliffe and Ellen Buie Niewyk and their contributions to Jerry Bywaters, Interpreter of the Southwest (Joe and Betty Moore Texas Art Series) and Jerry Bywaters, Lone Star Printmaker: A Study of His Print Notebook, With a Catalogue of His Prints and a Checklist of His Illustrations and Ephemeral Works. This event is open to the public and will be hosted at the Museum Shop in the Smith Building on July 18 from 1 PM to 3 PM. Admission is free. Please visit www.blantonmuseum.org for more information.
