Sigma Xi Science Cafe: Dr. Ed Wenk on "Science Advisory Apparatus for the President and Congress"
Wednesday September 21, 2005 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm
UW Center for Urban Horticulture
3501 NE 41st Street
Seattle, Washington 98105 Get Directions
Members and public welcome, FREE admission, light hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine available (minimal charge).

Dr. Wenk's most recent book, "The Double Helix: Technology and Democracy in the American Future," was published in 1999. He founded the Science Policy Research Division, and was the first science advisor to congress. He subsequently served as director of the Federal Council for Science and Technology in the Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon administrations. After teaching over 21 years at UW, he is eminently qualified to lead this discussion. It should be a lively, and timely topic. We hope to see you there!

The cafe format is a short (20 minute) presentation followed by an open discussion/question & answer session.
