The History of Fishing
Wednesday February 20, 2008 at 10:00am
Lifelong
119 West Court Street
Ithaca, New York 14850 Get Directions
Instructor: E. Pete Scala (2 Sessions)

The thousand-plus page reference book McClanes Standard Fishing Encyclopedia, published over fifty years ago, is a classic that any serious fisherman would always enjoy perusing. The two sessions will only touch on a few select items to highlight features that tell of the popular aspects of what is the biggest of all hobbies worldwide.

The freshwater fishing of trout and of bass are two separate worlds with their own industries. They will be treated in the first session. Saltwater fishing, from herring to whales, will be the subject of the second session.
