This is a basic 5-part series bringing a more focused level of awareness to a rapidly evolving challenge of environmental consequences facing the Earth and its children for the foreseeable future. This forum will consist of presentations, sharing ideas, and actions that support sustainable living. A variety of local agencies, activist, and community members will be presenting and facilitating this series. Talk to your neighbors! Bring a friend!
Session 1 - Living in Interesting Times - Sustainable Living: Why & How
We live on a blue planet that has brought abundant life and riches. Whats happening now, and what might happen if we dont make some changes? Some questions: What is sustainability? What is a meaningful life? Whats important?
Session 2 - What You Can Do Today
Save money and energy in your home or apartment.
Easy-to-take household actions, from installing water savers to insulations.
Session 3 - Giving Back: Recycling and Composting
Learn some easy ways to reduce, re-use, recycle and restore the Earth.
Session 4 - Create projects for fun and profit that contribute to sustainable living
There are many activities in Tompkins County that hundreds of citizens are participating in, from reusing books to transforming ourselves.
Session 5 - Open Presentations
Short presentations by your neighbors on interesting sustainability issues. Open to anyone with a story.
