Legendary Stardust Cowboy (Norman Carl Odam, 1947) is een van de grondleggers van de psychobilly. Hij scoorde in totaal één hit, ‘Paralyzed’in 1968, genoeg om hem tot een ware cultheld te maken. Zijn kenmerkende Texaanse geluid is van invloed geweest op vele volgers en fans. Zelfs David Bowie behoorde tot zijn fanclub, naar eigen zeggen is de naam Ziggy Stardust afgeleid van The Legendary Stardust Cowboy. Het nummer ‘I took a trip on a gemini spaceship’ van Bowie’s album Heathen is een cover van the Cowboy, die zich op zijn beurt Space Oddity eigen maakte.
