LPGA Longs Drugs Challenge

Residents and visitors alike have long known the secret, and now, word is out! The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) has recognized Tri-Valley, California, and its championship courses, as a premier golf destination. The LPGA Longs Drugs Challenge will return for the third year at Blackhawk Country Club. The tournament is expected to draw approximately 60,000 spectators. Surrounded by acres of open space, lush landscaping and luxurious homes, Blackhawk Country Club has become a favorite among the tour’s players. The 2008 Longs Drugs Challenge will see some of the biggest LPGA stars fight for their part of the $1.1 million purse. In years past the tournament has crowned some of the most popular players on the tour, including Annika Sorenstam, Karrie Webb, and Juli Inkster.
