The Vagina Monologues

A charity presentation in aid of
Worcestershire Rape Crisis
in association with
V-Day,
a global movement to stop
violence against women and girls.

KING CHARLES 1 HIGH SCHOOL
Friday 22nd February, 7.30pm

ROSE THEATRE
Saturday 23rd February, 7.30pm

For two nights Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd February, a group of local secondary school staff will be following in the footsteps of such names as Sharon Osbourne, Jerry Hall and Glenn Close as they give a charity performance of “The Vagina Monologues”.

Frank and explicit, “The Vagina Monologues” have proven to be one of the biggest theatrical hits of recent years. Based on interviews with thousands of women from all corners of the globe, these sensitive, touching, moving and riotously funny set-pieces offer a range of insights into real women’s experiences of their own vaginas.

For the women, it’s a terrific night out: a celebration of womanhood and women’s sexuality. And for the men, it’s a truly eye-opening experience! But be warned – those who might find the subject a little too much for their dispositions should keep well clear!

Profits raised from the performance will go to Worcestershire Rape Crisis. Director Mo wood and producer Louise Sutherland both insist that “The Vagina Monologues” offers the best of both worlds – a great night out for a worthy cause.

“The women performing the pieces cover a range of ages and experiences, we have staff students and local women” says Mo. “All of them are bringing incredible warmth and vitality to these amazing testimonies. These speeches make you laugh, make you cry, and make you angry. We are fairly confident that Evesham will not have seen or heard anything like this before!”

Louise adds “I was delighted when my invitation to perform the monologues was accepted. Knowing young women were embracing the messages of Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues. The rehearsals have been incredible fun and I am confident that everyone who comes along to see it will leave feeling very empowered.”

Tickets cost £7 at the Rose Theatre (£5 at King Charles 1) and can be booked via the Rose Theatre box office on 01562, bought from King Charles 1 or direct by contacting Louise on 07963 838753. Every penny raised will be used to support Worcestershire Rape Crisis. Early booking is strongly advised given the popularity of “The Vagina Monologues”.
