Jim Ballowe, Author and Distinguished Professor of English Emeritus, Bradley University, the Chicago Trees Initiative and Lurie Garden staff present how Joy Morton, a Chicago salt merchant, came to create one of the most important arboretums in the world in the Chicago region. Jim Ballowe will highlight Morton's involvement in the Chicago Plan Commission and address questions.

All lectures take place at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St., Chicago 60602, 5th Floor Millennium Park Room and are free and open to the public.
