Come to Hawaii and visit the mountaintop where some of the largest and most productive telescopes on the planet are located. 'Explorers of Mauna Kea' transports viewers on a voyage across space and time with Polynesian navigators and astronomers as we celebrate the spirit of human exploration. 'Explorers of Mauna Kea' was produced by the Bishop Museum Planetarium in Honolulu in partnership with NASA. In the show, audiences will learn how ancient Polynesian voyagers used the stars to navigate the Pacific thousands of years ago. The program also examines the work being carried out by astronomers on the summit of Mauna Kea, home of the largest telescope in the world.
