We'll have two outstanding presentations this month. The information on the first is:
Managing Application State w/ Adobe Flex 3, with Sam Rivello
Learn state management to build more powerful applications featuring greater scalability. While the examples shown will be specific to Flex 3 for deployment to the browser, this session is equally relevant for application developers of other technologies including Adobe Flash CS3 and Adobe Flex 3 for Adobe AIR desktop deployment.
About Sam Rivello:
Samuel Asher Rivello is the Director of Multimedia Applications and Architecture for a Los Angeles based interactive-media design company. Sam has designed, developed and/or managed development of 400+ Flash and Shockwave games and applications for youth-oriented advertising campaigns for Fortune 1000 companies.
Creativity Conducted – Multiplayer Wii Remote Interactive Wall
BLITZ will deconstruct the Adobe interactive video wall first showcased at Adobe MAX 07, Chicago. Built entirely on homegrown Adobe technologies, BLITZ will walk through the creative ideation and concepting process, planning, technical architecture and integration with the Nintendo Wii remotes, and the challenges with delivering a physical installation in high-trafficked event.
Ken Martin
Ken Martin is CEO, Executive Creative Director, and co-founder of BLITZ, a world-renowned interactive agency that develops interactive campaigns, rich-internet applications, and user interfaces. As CEO, Ken’s role involves setting market strategy with the executive team to maximize growth and deliver cutting edge solutions and value to BLITZ’s worldwide clientele. His passion lies in nurturing and cultivating the spirit of innovation, creativity, and teamwork in everyone at BLITZ. Ken leads by example while evangelizing the promise of an envisioned interactive-centric, advertising world.
As Executive Creative Director, Ken is recognized as a thought leader for the experience economy as he works with top brands to identify trends and opportunities, fuse insights with ideas, and redefine the audience’s experience. With over 42+ awards since 2002 (OneShow, KeyArt, London International Advertising Awards, SXSW, Flashforward Film Festival, FWA, ADDYs, HBO Comedy Festival), Ken works with BLITZ’s top client list of Microsoft, GE, Adobe, Cranium, Epson, and Stagr, to conceptualize results-driven, brand-centric, campaigns and applications that entertain while they inform.
Prior to BLITZ, Ken co-founded Silicon Valley-based, eStudio, an innovative interactive content developer. He was instrumental in raising $5M in venture capital. An avid entrepreneur even at age 15, Ken founded SignWorks and sold the business at age 18. Eleven years later, SignWorks is still going strong in the digital sign industry.
When not at the office, Ken resides in Southern California with his wife, Ruth, and their three sons, Ethan, Gavin, and Colin. Ken has also been rumored to shred at Guitar Hero on PS2.
Patrick Matte
Patrick Matte joined BLITZ in fall of 2006 and brings over 8 years of experience in multimedia design and development. As the Interactive Director, he takes charge of Flash development on BLITZ’ upscale projects.
Before BLITZ, Patrick worked as a Flash developer at Sidlee, Canada's Digital Agency of the Year in 2004 according to Marketing Magazine. He’s also worked with other Canadian interactive agencies, among them Nurun, Cossette, 2B Interactive, BBDO, and tm design.
