ndie Rock:
Who knew guitars were meant to make those sounds? Picking apart the average chord and creating something quite amazing – disjointed, high yet perfectly pitched erratic, verging on sci-fi guitar, cushioned with bumbling pillow fight-esque bass line, crashing open hi-hat and magical mystery tour of keyboard acrobatics – this is the sound of Tokyo Police club. They began performing live in 2005, and that fall they played the Montreal Pop Festival, where their rousing reception convinced them to make Tokyo Police Club a full-time venture. Buoyed by blog and MySpace buzz, Tokyo Police Club embarked on their largest tour yet that fall. Around the same time, A Lesson in Crime was re-released with wider distribution.
