Delta Pi Omega, and Omicron Gamma Omega Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. will be hosting a "Power of Green" Economic Smart Fair on Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 10am-2pm. The event will take place at Mt. Olive Community Life Center, Unit #2, 2 Hicks Avenue, Annapolis, MD.
The goal is to enlighten, encourage and empower participants with fiscal knowledge through a series of interactive workshops, and seminars. Topics will include financial planning, home ownerships, paying for college credit counceling, non-traditional entrepreneurship, and basic economics for managing stressful times.
This event also seeks to promote the national "going green" initative by offering reusable green bags to participants in hopes of not only saving them money at stores that may charge for paper/plastics bags, but lessening participants carbon footprint. Exhibitors from several environmental companies will be present to provide information on easy, economical alternatives for living a more "green" lifestyle.
The "Power of Green" Economic Smart Fair is an extension of the community services chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. provide to members of Anne Arundel County. This event is free and open to the public. Organizations or individuals interested in participating in this effort to "empower" the community with economic savviness may visit omicrongammaomega.com
This is a great event, and I encourage anyone, and everyone looking for credible information about economics to treat themselves to economic empowerment. See you there!
