On May 17, 2008, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington DC will host our 5th annual Spring Affair “Boots & Black Tie” GALA at the JW Marriott hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue. This is GMCW’s largest fundraising event of the year, contributing over $120,000 to our operating budget.
Joining us this year is Emmy-award winning actor Leslie Jordan! Leslie is the 2006 Emmy-Award recipient for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his delicious portrayal of “Beverley Leslie” on the hit television show “Will and Grace.” You may also know him as “Brother Boy” in the film version of “Sordid Lives” with Delta Burke, Olivia Newton-John, and Beau Bridges. He has also had recurring roles on the television series “Boston Legal,” “Ugly Betty,” and “Reba”, and will be starring in HBO’s “12 Miles of Bad Road” with Lily Tomlin and Mary Kay Place. And you won’t want to miss Leslie’s autobiography “My Trip Down the Pink Carpet”, which is due to be released in June 2008.
This year promises hundreds of unique silent auction items, as well as a premium selection of live auction items, including breakfast with Leslie the next day! Sponsor ticket holders can also join Leslie in the Presidential Suite and roof-top deck from 6:00pm-7:00pm for a special champagne reception. With 450 guests enjoying an evening of excellent food, music, and special entertainment by Leslie, this is sure to be an evening you’ll want to be part of!
