Jamestown, NY , February 25, 2008-- Acclaimed teacher and multi-platinum recording artist Jim Donovan from the percussive band Rusted Root and New York City African dance instructor Zen Dodge will be featured during the third annual Jamestown Day of Drum and Dance on Saturday March 29, 2008 at the Reg Lenna Civic Center from 1 to 6:30 pm.

The day long event will feature Donovan's interactive hand drumming experience entitled "The Rhythm Renewal Drumming Workshop" from 2:30-4:30 pm where participants will learn rhythms, songs, and musical concepts from West Africa, Central Africa, Brazil and the Caribbean. Donovan provides a large selection of authentic West African drums called djembes for participants to use for the workshop. Beginners welcome. In addition, New York City African dance instructor Zen Dodge will be teaching a children's dance workshop from 1-2 pm and is open to persons under the age of 14. A limited number of scholarships are available for the children's dance workshop.

Later in the day Dodge will conduct a traditional African Dance workshop from 5-6:30pm open to persons 14 and over.
