NB: we'll be at the Living Room on Greek Street for this month only!
This month
We have two 20:20 lightning talks lined up:
* Mark Sailes on "How version control will save the world"
* Daniel Drozdzewski & David Turner on XP (the Extreme Programming variety)
There's just about time for an ad-hoc 20:20 if anyone feels the need!
What is GeekUp?
GeekUp is a community of web designers, web developers, and other tech-minded folk from the North. Our socials take place once a month in Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Preston and Sheffield and are always a lively place to share ideas and spread a little knowledge.
Who can attend GeekUp?
While the focus for GeekUp is predominately web related anybody involved in the technology industry is more than welcome to attend a GeekUp. The monthly events are free, we just ask that you buy your own beer.
I've just found you, so it'll be my GeekUp cherry. The Adelphi is good but it gets very busy (though maybe not on a wednesday) Is there anywhere with free Wifi? I think The Reliance has it.
Unfortunately we were unable to book the Adelphi (costs money) and there's no wifi at the Victoria, so after much searching we've opted for the Living Room on Greek Street... cheers everyone for all the suggestions!
Now this is getting silly. Too many double bookings in my diary so yet again I cannot come. It's nothing against Leeds, I've already had to say sorry to Manoj who is doing a demo evening in Manchester on Wed too. But I got an export awards dinner in Sheffield. Free booze and nosh (courtesy government) and chance to shmoose with local businesses who are showing off websites. What can you do?
Booooooo.
