A really big show of miniature proportions takes place from Sept. 19 through Oct 3. when Elder Street Gallery hosts an international exhibition featuring some of the most renowned artists working in the miniature medium today.
“Miniatures” is the name given to the art of producing very finely detailed, small paintings.
"If you use a magnifying glass after your moment of aesthetic arrest and find there is layer upon layer of finer detail -- then you have a miniature."
Magnifying glasses are provided and closer looks are encouraged.
The opening will be on Oct 19th from 5-10 pm.
Open to the public, the "It’s A Small World" exhibition is free of charge, as are libations, food and parking.
