Bing Thom (cm, aia, maibc, fraic), the Principal + Creative Director of Bing Thom Architects, will be giving a presentation at the National Building Museum in Washington dc as part
of the Spotlight on Design lecture series.

Bing Thom first spoke at the National Building Museum more than 5 years ago where he presented the firm’s plans for the expansion and renovation of the City’s beloved Arena Stage, the largest theatre in the country dedicated to American plays and playwrights.

The National Building Museum has invited Bing Thom for a return engagement to present an update
on the Arena Stage project, currently under construction, as well as the firm’s other work.

Following the presentation, Bing Thom will be joined by Arena Stage Artistic Director Molly Smith to discuss the unique challenges of designing and building performing arts centres. Martin Moller, the Museum’s Senior Vice-President and Curator will moderate.

The event is also part of Architecture Week, an annual celebration sponsored by the Washington chapter of the American Institute of Architects (aia) to promote the best in architecture.

Spotlight on Design is an ongoing lecture series launched in 1997 featuring architects, urban planners and designers of distinction from around the world.
