New Year's Eve With Steve Tyrell
Thursday December 10, 2009 at 8:45pm
Carlyle Hotel
35 E 76th St
New York, New York 10021 Get Directions
The early show includes a glass of champagne & selection of canapes on each table. The later show is a Black Tie Gala Dinner Show. A four-course dinner designed by Chef Sakatos will be available for guests and includes a midnight toast. With his on-screen performance of 'The Way You Look Tonight' in the film 'Father of the Bride,' movie music pioneer and record producer Steve Tyrell unknowingly launched a successful singing career. He has since released five albums saluting The Great American Songbook - all on the Top 5 Billboard Jazz Charts - including his 2005 'Songs of Sinatra' set. Critics have described Tyrell as having a voice with earthy qualities like New Orleans mojo man Dr. John and soulster Billy Vera. His broad appeal lies in his ability to recast many of the Great American Standards with a tinge of soul appeal.
