Anaphora presents its first classical concert of the season on Wednesday, September 30th at 7PM in the Salon of the Elizabeth Stein Company (410 S. Michigan Ave, Suite 801, Chicago). Expect to hear some of Mozart's finest chamber works and Anaphora's newest subgroup, the Chicago Reed Quartet. Highlights include the impressive Oboe Quartet, the evocative Clarinet Quintet, and "the Hunt" for String Quartet. General admission is $10; $5 for students.

Anaphora is dedicated to performing, developing and enhancing classical, jazz and contemporary music alike. Anaphora showcases performance-focused artists through unique programming in a variety of venues. Anaphora encourages its performers to nurture the synergy between modern stage performance and the art-music establishment. Anaphora exists to bring musical classics into this age, to fuse the fresh with the familiar and to convey one coherent statement about the music of our time.

The Chicago Reed Quartet (CRQ), Anaphora's newest subgroup, was formed in the Spring of 2009 and has played in the Maud Powell Festival in LaSalle-Peru, IL. The quartet has also been featured on the Bean Blossom Music Series and as an opening act for the Chicago Philharmonic. Most recently, CRQ was featured on Anaphora's appearance in Millennium Park's noontime series at the Pritzker Pavilion, ON STAGE AT NOON.
