This summer, the search began for the UK's most exciting and innovative small companies. Competing in The Pitch 2009, entrepreneurs in five regions presented their product or service to panels of leading business experts.

Five winners plus a wildcard entry selected by members of BusinessZone.co.uk will compete in a live grand final in London on day one of Global Entrepreneurship Week where a victorious entrepreneur will walk away with a package of business support prizes worth £50,000!

Judging all our finalists will be a panel of high profile experts including Doug Richard, ex-Dragons' Den and founder of School for Startups; Tim Campbell, winner of The Apprentice and founder of the Bright Ideas Trust and Dale Vince, founder of Ecotricity.

The live final will be preceded by a conference featuring seminars, workshops and advice surgeries to give entrepreneurs the inside track on making your business a success. There will also be inspirational speeches including an address by Jamie Murray Wells, founder of Glasses Direct.
