Duke Ellington's Beggar's Holiday

A Jazz Collaboration with the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, Stage Direction by Jonathan Eaton
A landmark revival of Duke Ellington's retelling of the Beggar's Opera features musical arrangements by Pittsburgh's own Billy Strayhorn and text by Dale Wasserman and John Latouche. This production will be the first important revival of Beggar's Holiday since its successful Broadway run in 1947, when it was Broadway's first racially-integrated musical.
