As part of the Public Integrity and Political Reform seminar series from the University's Centre for Contemporary History & Politics, Dr Elizabeth Vallance of the Standards Committee will talk about the work of the Committee on Standards in Public Life which was set up some twelve years ago in the wake of the "cash for questions" scandal.

Trust in institutions and public figures has been a constant theme of their work, most recently with an inquiry into and report on the administration and regulation of MPs' expenses.
