Shakespeare's drama follows the dilemma of Helena who, having healed the King, is rewarded with marriage to the desirable but unwilling Count Bertram. With open disdain the arrogant Count marries her, then sets a seemingly impossible challenge before he will acknowledge her fully as his wife. Clever plotting and secret assignations follow as Helena sets out to win the man she loves.
