This authentic German style Christmas Market and Festival is a unique experience for the Greater New Orleans area. Christmas in the United States stems from many old German customs and traditions. Shoppers can find original artistic creations, plus many one of a kind items. Through the weekend there will be Christmas choirs singing traditional Christmas songs in German, a grand holiday tree lighting, bands, plenty of Gluwein and other hot beverages, traditional German cakes and cookies, gingerbread houses and a lot of other great German traditional holiday food and drink and live traditional German music. There will be a snow garden for the children with lots of activities to keep them entertained while their parents are shopping. Of course "Der Weihnachtsmann" aka Santa Claus will be making an appearance.
