Uncompromising Courage Art Exhibit at UA Student Union Memorial Center Tucson Room
Tuesday November 17, 2009 from 9:30am - 5:00pm
Informative, Moving, Inspiring:

"Uncompromising Courage" Art Exhibit, having toured more than 40 countries and 200 cities to wide acclaim, has come to Arizona.

The exhibit featured oil, watercolor, pencil and photographic artwork highlighting the experiences of many Falun Dafa practitioners in China who have been tortured.

The art works grapple with what is both particular and universal about the human condition, resulting in a timely gesture toward cross-cultural understanding
.

The artists all practice Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) and hold the tree principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance sacred. Falun Gong is a spiritual self-cultivation practice of mind and body that helps improve health and purify the spirit.

Unfortunately, Falun Gong is now persecuted in China, where practitioners suffer a brutal campaign of intimidation, propaganda and violence. Four of the artists featured in this exhibit have personally experienced suppression and imprisonment as a result of the persecution.

The art works are unique in that they provide a window into an importance and often untold part of this Chinese history.
