The Swell Season is comprised of The Frames' Glen Hansard and Czech pianist/songwriter Marketa Irglova. The duo first met in Prague when they were introduced by Czech director Jan Hrebejk, who wanted them to create music for his film 'Beauty in Trouble'. That led to the two collaborating for Glen's 2006 solo album, 'The Swell Season,' and then the FOX Searchlight film 'Once,' which they acted in and whose soundtrack features their songs. 'Falling Slowly' earned the pair a 2008 Academy Award for Best Original Song. 'Strict Joy,' their follow-up to the 'Once' soundtrack, will be available September 29th.
