For the second year in a row, the University of Evansville women’s basketball team will enter the season as reigning MVC champions. The Purple Aces are coming off of winning last year’s State Farm MVC Tournament title and advancing to the school’s second NCAA?Tournament appearance and fourth postseason appearance since 1999. UE also won the MVC regular-season title in 2008.

We’re All In...DEAL!
That’s the mantra of this year’s Purple Aces squad, and it does not mean that the team has taken up poker.
UE’s “deal” is the team’s ambition to be an ace in everything that they do, because an ace is the “best of the best” and able to “deal” with any obstacle which life throws at them.
Players who have signed up to go “all in” this year including returning seniors Amy Gallagher and Hannah Singleton, junior Stephanie Bamberger, sophomores Eva Benson, Chelsea Falkenstein, and Jordan Lewis, and true freshmen Amber Boyd, Meagan Collins, Chelsea Hawkins, Samantha Heck, Kaylan Martin, and Taylor Ware. Junior transfer Briyana Blair will also go “all in” in practice, but she has to sit out this season due to NCAA transfer rules after transferring from the University of Miami (Fla.).
