The Sanders family returns to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in the mountains of North Carolina on Christmas Eve, following Pearl Harbor. The family has gathered for one last singin’ at the church before young Dennis ships out for boot camp. The audience becomes part of Reverend Oglethorpe’s congregation for a nostalgic visit in an old-time church in 1941.
