Seun Kuti & Egypt 80
Saturday June 28, 2008 - Wednesday December 31, 1969 at 8:00pm
The Moore Theatre
1932 Second Avenue
Seattle, Washington 98107 Get Directions
Nigerian Seun Kuti is a master of Afrobeat, the explosive political music invented by his father, Fela Kuti in the 1970s. Seun plays with Egypt 80, his father's original band, directing the great musical legacy into the future. This is music of the people, for the people and by the people - hard, big band jazz, Afrofunk with a pulsating rhythmic powerhouse and incisive political messages. At his concerts, he delivers a serious mix of political messages and new songs, as well as some of his father's memorable classics.
