The exhibition is composed of more than 30 large, exquisitely detailed, engraved illustrations from the Description, along with French Orientalist paintings and drawings that were influenced by the publication. The exhibition also includes a selection of historical letters and documents that illuminates the legacy of Napoleon's brief occupation of Egypt and reveals how the interaction between military power, scientific knowledge, and artistic skills shaped the West's enduring image of the country.
