Judith M. Taylor
(This event is co-sponsored by The Garden Conservancy & Pacific Horticulture)
There are foreigners in our back yard. In fact, most of the plants in North American gardens come originally from Europe, Asia, even Australia. Judith Taylor’s book examines the politics, commercial trends, and fashions that resulted in ornamental plants moving in both directions across the Atlantic. Today, gardens worldwide have many of the same plants – and some of the most familiar shrubs have fascinating and exotic origins.
