Born from the royal courts of Jaipur, Awadh, and Banaras, Kathak, the North Indian classical dance form, is a way of life based on four main elements: Tayari or Readiness. Layakari or Rhythm. Khoobsurti or Beauty. Nazaakat or Elegance. It demonstrates power, dynamism, and purity through complex technique of footwork, pirouhettes, and rhythm while displaying the elegance and beauty through movement and storytelling.
A disciple of internationally-renowned master Pandit Chitresh Das, Labonee started dancing at the age of eight. As she maintains the integrity of the artform, she upholds the tradition of preserving the past and carries it as a legacy into the future.
Join her in a journey of discovery of Kathak, India, and life.
