Join nationally recognized poet and performance artist Stephanie Pruitt in a poetry writing workshop for performance artist, followed by an Open Mic Poetry Reading. Learn the cultural history of spoken word & how to translate into live performances. Writing exercises will focus on metaphor, rhythm, cadence, complex rhyme schemes, and narrative techniques that create memorable pieces.
After the workshop, “Rock the Mic” with live performances of what you created! Other community members may take the stage but preference will first be given to workshop attendees and teens. Please sign up at the door.
