Deep Dive: Patenting Workshop for Entrepreneurs
Tuesday May 6, 2008 from 8:30am - 1:00pm
microsoft Campus
1065 La Avenida
Mountain View, California Get Directions
The Telecom Council's Entrepreneur Forum and Swernofsky Law Group presents this soup-to-nuts discussion for inventors, creators of IP, start-ups, and medium sized companies without a dedicated legal team. We’ll cover the arguments for whether to seek patents and trademarks, how patents can help your company, where to look for them, and how to get them submitted and approved. Of equal importance, we’ll look at what is not worth patenting nor trademarking. And to wrap it all up, we'll discuss the right way to submit the ideas that are worth taking to the USPTO.

Our presenters include top-notch lawyers who will cover the details of patents and trademarks, with adequate time to answer your questions. We’re also going to hear from the Venture Capital sector on how they view IP, and the importance of patents with respect to funding and company valuations. To round out our perspectives, we’ll get a Case Presentation from a start-up entrepreneur who has used patents, and who has been involved in litigation around his company’s IP positions.

This event is free to members or $80 for non-members. A membership option will be available during the registration process for this event.
