SPEAKER: Valerie MacLean, Executive Director, BC Crime Prevention Association. Valerie MacLean continues to educate the public about fraud awareness and crime prevention. Her background includes RCMP law enforcement, fraud investigator, and spokesperson for the Better Business Bureau.
DESCRIPTION: Learn how to recognize a scam and some quick tips to take control. Avoid identify theft, be aware of current fraud and know when to contact officials. If something is too good to be true, it probably is a scam. Don't send money to receive a "prize", watch for hidden fees and false promises, and keep your money.
